WHO THIS PROGRAMME IS DESIGNED FOR:
Arthur Conan Doyle Centre, Palmerston Place
Edinburgh City of Edinburgh
The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre is in the heart of Edinburgh’s West End, next to St Mary's Cathedral, and is accommodated in the splendid surroundings of an elegant Victorian town house.
It was founded to facilitate the practice of spiritual healing, complementary therapies and the creative arts to benefit the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual welfare of society.
The West End Village is one of Edinburgh’s hidden gems. It is the cultural heart of Edinburgh where the colourful, stylish independent boutiques, trendy bars, and restaurants, combine to create a bohemian feel. The area boasts several of the city's hotels, restaurants, independent shops, offices and arts venues. This is a delightful area to explore for both locals and visitors alike.
Why not take some additional days to explore this magnificent city, after we immerse ourselves in Donna’s work for the 4 days of each class.
Fun facts: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was a British writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for “A Study in Scarlet”, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson.
The Centre is also within walking distance of Edinburgh's parks such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Inverleith Park and the nearby walks and cycle paths of the Water of Leith. For those wanting more exercise we can arrange an outing up Arthurs seat near Holyrood Palace with magnificent views of the city and the Firth of Forth.
